The Baron von Solemacher alpine strawberry is an antique German variety producing sweet, juicy, deep red berries up to 25 mm in diameter. First offered in 1935 by German seed merchant F.C. Heinemann, this hardy perennial yields fruit from late spring until frost and can produce strawberries as soon as 3 months after sowing. These strawberries are delightful in pastries or fresh, filling any room with their sweet aroma.
